Bibiani Gold Stars and their chief executive officer, Akwasi Adu, have been sanctioned by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Disciplinary Committee following misconduct during their Ghana Premier League match against Hearts of Oak.

The club was found guilty of breaching matchday accreditation and access control regulations by allowing Adu to enter the inner perimeter of the playing area without authorisation.

According to the committee, Adu verbally assaulted match officials during the incident and was subsequently charged with misconduct and making post-match comments that brought the game into disrepute.

Adu has been fined GH¢10,000 and handed a three-match ban for his conduct.

The suspension takes immediate effect, while the fine must be paid within 14 days of notification of the decision.

The committee has also warned Adu that any further misconduct could result in more severe sanctions.

Gold Stars have similarly been cautioned against future breaches of the competition’s regulations, with the GFA warning that further misconduct could attract stiffer penalties.

The sanctions underline the GFA’s commitment to enforcing matchday regulations and maintaining discipline among club officials in the Ghana Premier League.
