Stonebwoy has taken a moment to appreciate The Multimedia Group Limited for its support of his music and the wider Ghanaian creative industry as excitement builds around this year’s BHIMFEST.
The dancehall star gave a special shoutout to the group, mentioning journalist Becky and acknowledging the work the media house continues to do in promoting Ghanaian talent.
Stonebwoy said the support from the media goes beyond him personally, insisting that promoting Ghanaian artistes is ultimately about pushing the country’s creative industry forward.
“I love and appreciate the efforts that you put into Ghana. It’s not just for me. If it is just for me, would you mind me? It’s for Ghana now.”
He also extended his appreciation to the Creative Arts Council, event supporters and those who have backed his journey, particularly Dean Mason, whom he credited for constantly pushing and encouraging him to keep going.
The artiste also had a message for fans who have bought tickets to BHIMFEST, describing their support as more than simply paying to attend a concert.
For him, every ticket purchased represents a vote of confidence in Ghanaian entertainment and contributes to the bigger picture of taking local music further.
“That is your contributed quota to what is happening and that is how you can boast and speak to the fact that Ghanaians, we got to go further and further.”
Stonebwoy believes the continued support of Ghanaian artistes can help create stars whose achievements will give the country something to celebrate on the global stage.
“One day, we’ll come back here as great superstars that you can point to and be proud of. This guy comes from my country.”
He ended by inviting fans to join him at BHIMFEST on Saturday, promising another celebration of Ghanaian music and culture.
