The Madina Divisional Police Command has arrested two suspects over an alleged plot to assassinate a woman who operates as a Susu collector at the Botwe Taxi Rank.
The suspects have been identified as Abubakar Altine and Eric Tettey Adejetey.
According to the Ghana Police Service, the two were arrested on September 4, 2026, after a team of officers, acting on intelligence, laid an ambush at Botwe Old Town.
The Police said the suspects were apprehended while allegedly attempting to execute the planned attack.
Preliminary investigations indicate that Abubakar Altine allegedly owed the complainant, Esther Dankwa, money and had come under repeated pressure to repay the debt.
The Police said Altine subsequently allegedly conspired with Eric Tettey Adejetey to arrange the assassination of Ms Dankwa.
The two suspects were arraigned before the Adenta Magistrate Court on September 7, 2026.
Their pleas were not taken, and the court remanded them into Police custody.
They are expected to reappear before the court on September 22, 2026.
The Accra Regional Head of Public Affairs, Chief Superintendent Juliana Obeng, said investigations into the case are ongoing, with further developments to be communicated in due course.
