Ghana’s leading online sports betting company, Betway, has launched the second edition of the Betway Talent Search at the Swiss Spirit Alisa Hotel in Accra.

The event, which was held on last Friday, April 20, 2018, forms part of Betway’s Corporate social responsibility.

The  Betway Talent Search is aimed at unearthing talents across the length and breadth of the country among people between the ages of 18 and 25 and also serve as a way of getting players to feed, especially, the local league and national teams.

This exercise which begun last year, saw the winner, Obed Appiah, registering with Premier league side, Ashantigold to play professional football.

The search will, this time around, cover the whole country with more former players and coaches posing as scouts and managers.

Betway’s Brand Ambassador and former Black Stars skipper, Stephen Appiah will continue to lead the campaign and champion the course.

The scouting team will include Black Stars assistant coach, Maxwell Konadu, Eric Antwi and Twumasi Forkuoh, all of Lizzy Sports Complex, Godfried Adoube, Sam Johnson and Mohammed Gargo, all former Black Stars players.

The Talent Search trials will take place over a 5-week period commencing from 4th August 2018 to 8th September 2018.

Talented players can join the trials in Tamale on 4th August 2018 at the Nabisco Park, Sunyani on the 11th August 2018 at the Coronation Park, Kumasi at the Opoku Ware Park on the 18th August 2018, Cape Coast at the Adisadel Park on the 25th August 2018 and Accra on the 1st September 2018 at the University of Ghana Stadium.

This year, the eight individuals who will emerge as winners at the end would win trial contracts with any of four Premier League clubs sponsored by Betway, that is, Ashantigold FC, Liberty Professionals, Medeama SC and Aduana Stars as the grand prize.
