Former Vice President and New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has extended his best wishes to the Black Stars as Ghana begins its 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign with an opening fixture against Panama on Wednesday, June 17, in Toronto, Canada.
In a message of support to the national team, Dr. Bawumia described football as a powerful force that unites Ghanaians and brings people together across the world.
“Football has always been part of our identity as a nation. It unites us and connects people around the world,” he said.
Wishing the team success at the tournament, Dr. Bawumia expressed confidence in the Black Stars’ ability to make the country proud on football’s biggest stage.
“Black Stars, you have done it before and you can do it again. The nation is behind you, and I am also behind you. Go Black Stars and go for gold,” he stated.
