Former Vice President and Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has called for a deep, continuous collaboration between the state and faith-based organisations to speed up the development of the country.

Dr. Bawumia made the call during a key engagement with the Christian Council of Ghana as part of his commitment to deepen ties with them and recognise their contributions to nation-building.

In his address, Dr. Bawumia said that faith-based organizations are key drivers of Ghana’s development while recognising their long-standing contributions in the area of education, health care, and social development.

He commended the Christian Council for being the mirror of moral leadership in Ghana.

Dr. Bawumia also expressed sadness over how the moral standards in many mission schools have fallen recently, which is difficult to understand.

He blamed the situation on the interference in the management of these schools and called for a re-look at that.
