Manhyia South Member of Parliament (MP), Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, remains in the custody of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), despite media reports that he had been granted bail of GH¢50 million with three sureties.

The MP is still being held at EOCO’s headquarters this morning after spending the night in detention.

Bosome Freho MP Nana Asafo Agyei Ayeh, who has been with him and his legal team since Thursday, confirmed the development in an interview with Adom News’ Prince Owusu Asiedu.

Mr Ayeh disputed the reports of the GH¢50 million bail condition, describing it as unjustified and insisting that the information should be disregarded.

Lawyers for the Manhyia South MP maintain that no such bail condition has been met and that their client remains in custody.
