A 14-year-old daughter of a police officer, Benita Attechem has been burnt beyond recognition at Dunkwa-Attechem police barracks in the Upper Denkyira East Municipality of the Central Region.

Benita, a class six pupil, was killed in the early hours of Monday morning around 1:00am in blazing fire that engulf a room in which she and the mother were sleeping.

Adom News’ Gabriel Bediako who reported that, the mother of the victim managed to escape death.

But she was said to have collapsed following the horrific demise her daughter and was admitted at the Dunkwa Government Hospital.

Father of the victim, our reporter said was not in town when the incident happened.

Meanwhile, the body of the deceased has been deposited at the Dunkwa Government hospital Morgue.

However, the Dunkwa-Offin Divisional Police Commander Supt. Dala Dzanzi who confirmed the incident to Adom News said investigations have begun to ascertain the real cause of the fire.
