General Secretary of the National Democratic Congres (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, says those interested in contesting for the General Secretary position of the NDC should feel free to do so.

Mr Asiedu Nketia who is the incumbent GS of the party has announced his intention to contest again.

Speaking on Adom FM’s Morning show, Dwaso Nsem Friday, Mr Asiedu Nketia said whoever wants to contest was free to do so.

I have made my intentions known that I will contest so whoever is ready to unseat me should feel free to do so. It is within their rights to unseat me,” he said.

He said all contestants have to do is to prove their qualities to the delegates.

If you are going to contest a position like that of a general secretary, you need to show your capabilities and prove to the delegates that you can and that is what I did to become a general secretary,” he said.

General Mosquito was Member of Parliament for the Wenchi West constituency for 12 years, from 1992 to 2000

When Ghana decided to opt for constitutional rule, Asiedu Nketiah was elected to the Consultative Assembly which drafted the 1992 constitution.
