The Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Anyidoho, says his decision to run for the General Secretary position of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) should not be seen as competing his current boss, Asiedu Nketia.
According to Koku Anyidoho, his interest is to serve his party adding that he is only vying for a position and not contesting anyone in particular.
“I am not contesting anybody; I am vying for a position. Party first and we are working in the interest of the party,” he said on Accra based Okay FM monitored by Adomonline.com.
A total of 67 members of the NDC last Thursday besieged the head office of the party to pick nomination forms to contest for various national positions ahead of the 2020 general election.
Mr Anyidoho who picked nomination forms to contest as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the largest opposition party, says he is only vying for a position in accordance with the constitution of the party and nothing less or more.
According to him, it is God who is putting him up this challenge though he believes the delegates are the right people to decide when it’s time.
“I am talking with delegates who are very discerning. No insults at all. The delegates will decide at the right time. It is God who decides. I have a clean heart and a clean conscience and it is God who is directing me. God is putting me up for this challenge and delegates will decide,” he stated.
Mr Anyidoho says he has what it takes to wrestle power from the NPP in 2020.
