A flagbearer hopeful of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kojo Bonsu says there is no need to inform former President Mahama of his decision to contest NDC flagbearerhip.

He believes it would be out of place to inform Mr Mahama, an aspirant of his decision to contest.

“When I declared my intention, I informed President Rawlings because he was the founder of the NDC. Mahama is not a founder but a contestant and so why should I call on him? If I do, it means I am not practicing democracy,” he said on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen Thursday.

Mr. Bonsu last week submitted a letter of intent to the leadership of the NDC to contest flagbearer race on Monday October 1.
