Husband of the prepaid vendor who was murdered at Awoshie, a suburb of Accra is appealing to the police to release her corpse for burial.

Mr Aikins Mensah said her continuous stay at the morgue is causing the family more pain and anguish.

53-year-old Victoria Aikins Mensah was in her shop on Saturday night when she was accosted by two robbers demanding for money.

Her delay in granting their request led to her being shot in the head.

Two of the attendants who were with her at the time of the incident were made to lie face down before she was shot in the head.

The Police have started investigations into circumstances that led to the gruesome murder but the family is accusing them of delay.

Mr Aikins Mensah on Adom FM’s morning show Dwaso Nsem Wednesday said the delay was deepening their pain.

He explained that his late wife suffered a lot before she died thus they want to bury her quickly for her to rest in peace.

The distraught husband said their three children are inconsolable after the painful murder of their mother.

“We have been married since 1999 so she is a part of me. I don’t know how I will survive in this world, [without her]” he bemoaned.

Mr Aikins Mensah appealed to the Inspector General of Police to intervene to ensure the immediate release of the body for burial.
