An 18-year-old boy met his untimely death when he was shot dead while fishing at Sefwi Danyame in the Juaboso District of the Western region.

The deceased, Oliver Mensah was part of some young men who went to the town to fish but was prevented by some boys in the town.

The Danyame boys claimed they had the right to fish in the river as indigenes of the town but Oliver and his friends resisted.

This resulted in a scuffle between the young men and he [Oliver] was shot dead in the process.

Juaboso Police Commander, DSP Isaac Kumnipa confirmed this unfortunate incident to Adom News.

He said when they got the report and rushed to the scene around 10:30 Saturday night, the suspects had bolted.

DSP Kumnipa said they have mounted a manhunt for the suspects for prosecution.

Meanwhile, the body of the deceased has been deposited at the Juaboso government hospital morgue pending investigations.
