Dr Gideon Boako, Spokesperson for Vice President Mahamadu Bawumia is urging Ghanaians to take advantage of the town hall meeting being organised by the Economic Management team to ask all the questions about the economy.

According to him, it is the only platform offered the citizenry to directly interact with the people in charge of Ghana’s economy.

Dr Bawumia will on Wednesday, April 3, 2019, lead the team in stakeholder engagement and give an account of their stewardship after three years in power.

He will speak on the theme:  “our progress, our status, our future”.

Ahead of the event, many people have questioned the essence of the town hall meeting arguing that it was a waste of state resources.

but Dr Boako on Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem Tuesday said the town hall meeting was not a talk shop.

He explained that the Economic Management Team wants to be transparent and accountable to the people.

He noted that at a time the economy seems to be fluctuating, it is imperative for government to engage the citizenry and assure them of a stable economy.

What is most important, Dr Boako said, is for Ghanaians to seek answers to issues bothering on the economy.

“On the daily basis on radio and TV, Ghanaians hold government accountable so this town hall meeting is a good opportunity for everyone to ask all the questions,” he added.

Dr Boako said the stakeholder engagement will be live on radio and on all social media platforms to ensure it is very interactive.

Also in attendance, he revealed, will be civil society groups, economic think tanks, trade unions and stakeholders in the financial sector.
