Former Vice President Kwesi Amissah Arthur has expressed shock at the resignation of Dr. Nasirhu Isahaku as governor of the Bank of Ghana.

According to him, the former governor after a year of holding the position was now well prepared to tackle Ghana’s economic challenges head on.

However, Mr Amissah Arthur expressed confidence in the new governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr Ernest Addison, to deliver.

“It was a surprise to me. I don’t think anyone takes the position of government lightly, it’s a very important position. But I hope the new governor puts in the best efforts to improve our economy,” he argued on Joy fm.
Meanwhile, Issahaku has revealed that he tendered in his resignation without any political pressure.
According to him, his decision to vacate his position was a personal one which has no bearing with political interests.
