Chiefs and people of Akatsi in the Volta Region have threatened to stage a massive demonstration against doctors of Akatsi District Hospital in the Volta Region over what they termed as painful death of a male teacher of the Akatsi Secondary Technical School last Saturday.

According to them, management of the hospital have taken residents of the area for granted for far too long which they believe led to the death of the teacher.

Chief of Akatsi Tatorme, Torgbe Hortor tells Adom News he has been receiving countless complaints about the awkward behavior of some of the nurses at the Akatsi District Hospital.

“The sudden death of the teacher occurred because there was no doctor or nurse to attend to him when he was rushed to the hospital. They are always absent in the hospital and it’s very worrying” he said.

Torgbe Hortor said they are waiting for the DCE appointed to be confirmed so they can proceed with their demonstration.

He said a crunch meeting with the religious heads, members of the Assembly and heads of the leading political parties will be held to meet the hospital administration on Monday to seek solutions to the happenings.
