The statement from Mr Baffoe alleged that the former President bought his son a Range Rover worth over $100,000 and a Mercedes Benz SLK which is also worth over $56,000 as birthday gifts in spite of his complaints about economic challenges.

But the former President has described the allegations as “fevered hallucinations.”

He said the NPP communicator had clearly run out of propaganda.

But Abronye on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen Tuesday challenged Mr Mahama to prove that indeed, he didn’t spend hugely on his son’s birthday if he claims the country is facing challenges.

“It’s been less than three months since Mahama was crying over hardships, but I just heard he has spent over $156,000 on his son. President Mahama bought for his son, on his Birthday, a Range Rover worth over $100,000, and a Mercedes Benz SLK costing over $56,000,” Abronye alleged.

“After all these huge expenditures by John Mahama, he will later go and cry to his “NDC foot soldiers” that he is poor and that the Akufo-Addo administration is ill-treating him. He further tells them that the economy is very porous and that he (Mahama) is even being catered for by his wife’ Lordina

“If he thinks I’m only doing propaganda, then he should come out and prove that I’m telling lies. He should give us a break,” he added.
