Accra-based radio station, Asempa FM celebrates Fathers as their unique role is celebrated around the world today.

Fathers will today undertake roles traditionally reserved for mothers as our sister station Asempa FM, joins the world to celebrate fatherhood.

This celebration was brought by the Spanish and Portuguese to Latin America, where March 19 is often still used for it.

But many countries in Europe, Americas and Ghana have adopted the U.S. date, which is the third Sunday of June to celebrate the day.

Today at the forecourt of Joy and Asempa FM, fathers will have their day celebrated.

Director of Programmes at Asempa FM, Samuel Yirenkyi said the show which is the first of its kind, is going to be a fun-filled celebration of fathers with live performances from A.B Crentsil, the Shakers Band and others.

The day, he noted will be climax with lot of activities with fathers playing roles traditionally reserved for mothers.

Sammy Yirenkyi added that, winners will of these competitions will be rewarded.
