General Officer Commander of the Southern Command Ghana Army Brigadier General Thomas Oppong Peprah has assured troops that he will make sure their needs are met to enable them to continue the good works they are doing in conflict areas.

Oppong Peprah made the promise when he conducted an operational assessment at the security operational areas of the 66 artillery regiment.

His visit was to see how the officers are faring in the unit while also encouraging them to work hard as they wait for their accommodation and allowances to be issued shortly, he said.

Commander rear for the 66 artillery regiment Major Appiah Sappong said the visit of the General officer commanding of the southern zone was a morale boost to the officers.

He said that the regiment has added 300 officers and 349 other ranking members. Major Sappong suggested that the number of troops posted to the regiment from the training school be increased as the regiment is currently understaffed with a deficiency of 20 officers and 377 men.
