The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) says it is putting in place interim measures to curb stench emanating from Dansoman-Darkuman Junction to Asoredanho and other areas within the metropolis in order to minimise it impact on human health.
The decision by the assembly comes a few hours after Adom News and adomobline.com published complaints by residents and commuters about stench emanating from drains in the area and its attendant potential health hazards.

Head of Public Affairs, Gilbert Ankrah told Adom News in an interview that the assembly has to do more in Darkuman Junction and Asoredanho areas.
He said they were already desilting choked gutters in some of the communities such as Sukura, Achimota, Apenkwa, Awudome, and Ringroad.

He says Darkuman is their next target and very soon they will be desilting those drains to ensure that water can flow through them smoothly.
Gilbert Ankrah urged the residents within the metropolis to desist from pouring refuse into the gutters because they will be the ones to suffer whenever it rained.
