Bernice Affotey, an Advisor at Education USA, the educational consultancy outfit at the United States Embassy in Accra has outlined the consultancy’s commitment to aiding students seeking admission into US-based universities.

Speaking in an interview on Adom FM’s morning show Dwaso Nsem Friday, Mrs Afotey said Education USA specialised in helping students understand the rudiments and requirement necessary for education in any US university.

She added that the consultancy also helped students to understand what it takes to acquire scholarships in their selected universities.

Education USA is a US Department of State sponsored network with centres in Accra and Kumasi.

The Education USA Center in Accra, Ghana, is part of a network of over 400 advising centers in more than 170 countries.

The Center offers a range of services to help students in Ghana understand how to choose and apply to American universities and colleges.

There are currently 3,213 Ghanaian students enrolled at more than 630 tertiary institutions across the United States. Ghana is the second-largest sender of students from Africa, after only Nigeria.

The services provided by the Centre are free of charge and open to the public.

Would-be students seeking advice from the Centre must go with copies of any national a photo ID for access because it is located inside the U.S. Embassy compound.
