Highlife musician Akwaboah Jnr has responded to growing speculation about his marriage, insisting that rumours suggesting trouble in his relationship are far from reality.
The singer said he has become accustomed to the way public figures are often subjected to intense scrutiny, where even positive moments can quickly become the subject of negative conversations.
Addressing comments linking his recent weight loss to possible issues in his marriage, the musician said his changing appearance has nothing to do with his wife or the state of their relationship.
He explained that the demands of his career and pressure that come with working in the entertainment industry can naturally affect a person’s appearance.
Akwaboah, however, assured fans that he is healthy, happy and enjoying his marriage, which he described as a strong partnership built over years.
The “Obiaa” hitmaker also pushed back against comments directed at his wife, saying she has been unfairly dragged into conversations despite doing nothing wrong.
He laughed off suggestions that his wife does not take care of him, amid praises for her cooking skills.
For Akwaboah, the biggest concern is not the rumours themselves but the tendency to involve innocent people, especially family members and loved ones, whenever celebrities become the subject of public discussion.
He revealed that before getting married, he had already prepared his wife for the realities of being connected to someone in showbiz.
That preparation, he said, has helped them navigate the pressures that come with fame without allowing outside voices to affect their home.
After two years of marriage, which followed two years of dating, Akwaboah says he remains content, describing his wife as not only his partner but also his friend.
The musician maintained that the rumours have not created tension within his family, adding that those closest to him understand the reality of his marriage better than online commentators.
