Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena, son of the late Apostle Kwadwo Safo, has reacted after the Accra High Court granted a 10-day interim injunction halting preparations for his father’s burial.
In a brief interaction with the media following the court’s decision, Akofena said, “It’s done, victory belongs to God.”
The Accra High Court on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, restrained former Dome-Kwabenya MP Sarah Adwoa Safo from proceeding with the funeral arrangements of the late founder of the Kristo Asafo Mission.
The interim order temporarily stops all funeral-related activities, including the burial, pending the determination of issues before the court.
The injunction follows a legal dispute over the funeral arrangements for the renowned inventor, industrialist and religious leader.
The dispute comes against the backdrop of claims that Apostle Kwadwo Safo, in his final will and testament, entrusted the custody of his body and the organisation of his funeral to his son, Akofena.
It is this provision in the will that has become central to the disagreement over who has the legal authority to oversee the burial arrangements, after Adwoa Safo commenced with funeral preparations prior to reading of the will.
The funeral was scheduled to commence on Thursday, July 30, 2026, but has now been put on hold until the expiration of the court order or any further directives from the court.
The court is expected to hear the substantive matter within the 10-day period before determining the next steps in the case.
