The Deputy Chief Imam for the Ahafo Region, Alhaji Ahmed Mohammed Unus, has called on Muslim leaders to deepen relations with other religious groups to foster peace and development in the region.

Speaking in an interview with Adom News at Goaso during the celebration of his 10th anniversary in office, he stressed the need for continuous harmony between Muslims and other religious communities.

According to him, there should be no circumstances under which Muslims engage in conflict with followers of other faiths, urging leaders within the Muslim community to sustain and strengthen the existing cordial relationships.

Alhaji Unus noted that unity among different religious groups is key to accelerating development in Ahafo, adding that collective efforts are necessary to improve the living conditions of residents.

“As a leader, I will continue to encourage tolerance and mutual respect among all religious groups to ensure lasting peace,” he said.

Meanwhile, the President of the Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) Church in the Ahafo Region, Pastor Joseph Agyemang, commended the Deputy Chief Imam for his leadership, noting that his approach has contributed significantly to peaceful coexistence between Christians and Muslims in the area.

He urged other religious leaders to emulate the example set by Alhaji Unus to sustain unity and promote development in the region.
