The Member of Parliament (MP) for Agona East constituency in the Central Region, Queenstar Maame Pokuah Sawyerr, has helped to save the life of an 18-year-old orphan, Theodora Ansah, whose neck and hand were slashed by her boyfriend during the Christmas festivities.
The girl, who hails from Likpe near Hohoe in the Volta Region, narrowly escaped death and was in critical condition at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, but her family members could not raise the needed money for her to undergo surgery.
The 18-year-old mother of two got support from the the MP, Sisters of the Holy Family Catholic Church located at Mataheko and staff of Excellence in Broadcasting Network to undergo the surgery.
The victim, after successfully undergoing treatment and being discharged, paid a ‘Thank You’ visit to the Legislator at her residence in Accra on Monday, January 22, 2018.
Welcoming the survivor, the MP advised young girls to be of good behaviour and avoid acts which can jeopardize their dreams.
She noted that empowering young girls to stand for their rights was something she was passionate about in her constituency and beyond.

To this end, the MP promised to sponsor the 18-year-old orphan, Theodora Ansah to be a seamstress.
Background
Theodora had her neck slashed by her angry boyfriend, Raymond Boabey, a construction worker at Likpe Mate, a suburb of Hohoe in the Volta Region.
The victim, who is a mother of two, three-year-old and one-and-half-year-old daughter, however escaped death from the near butchering incidence.
