Adom News Correspondent at Obuasi in the Ashanti Region, Isaac K. Normanyo has been adjudged the Overall Best Reporter in Obuasi and its environs by Obuasi Police Command.

This comes on the back of his work in relation to police operations and the work of anti-galamsey squad, Operation Vanguard.

Obuasi District Police Commander, DSP Martin Asenso made the pronouncement during a get-together organized by the police at Obuasi to mark their maiden Police Week instituted by the IGP recently.

He noted that all the media houses in the area did well in covering the police, but Isaac Normanyo is well deserving of the award because he distinguished himself by working extra hard to keep the public constantly informed about police work.

“Isaac Normanyo followed us wherever we went and made sure the public is accurately informed about our work, particular in the anti-galamsey fight,” he said.

DSP Asenso said in 2019, they expect more support from the media and also valuable information from the public to enable them perform their security and crime prevention role effectively.

He also admonished residents of the area to be conscious of self security because that is even more important that police protection.

Isaac Normanyo said he is overwhelmed by the honor done him and he is grateful to his employers at Time FM and Multimedia for airing all his stories about the police and Operation Vanguard.

He said the award is an impetus for him to work harder and deliver more impacting stories from the area. 

Meanwhile, a Community Protection Personnel attached to the Obuasi Central Police Station, Maxwell Ankomah, was also adjudged the best worker in the category for the year.
