Personnel of Ghana’s security services are set to receive nine months’ rent allowances after Finance Minister Dr Cassiel Ato Forson approved payments covering January to September 2026.
The approval means the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department can now begin processing the allowances for the affected personnel.
Spokesperson for the Ministry of the Interior, Julius Anthony, announced the development in a post on X, confirming that the necessary validation had been completed by the various security agencies and the Ministry.
“I can confirm that the Minister for Finance, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, has approved the payment of three quarters of rent allowances, covering January to September, to personnel of the security services,” he said.

Mr Anthony explained that the completed validation process has paved the way for the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department to proceed with the payments.
The development clears the outstanding administrative processes required before the nine months’ allowances can be paid to personnel of the security services.
