Newly elected National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu, has urged party members to put aside their differences and rally behind the new leadership following the party’s national executive elections.
Mr Boadu said the party must move beyond the competition that characterised the elections and focus on building unity among members with different views and political interests.
“Let us choose unity over division,” he told party members, emphasising that the end of the internal contests should signal the start of a collective effort to strengthen the NPP.
He said the newly elected executives had a responsibility to serve the entire party, including supporters of candidates who lost in the various contests.
Mr Boadu also encouraged unsuccessful aspirants to remain actively involved in the party, noting that their ideas and experience would be valuable as the NPP works to consolidate its structures.
He stressed that the outcome of the elections should be viewed not merely as a personal or political triumph but as a call to serve the party.
“Today is not a day of victory but a day of responsibility and great unity,” he said.
Mr Boadu’s appeal follows the election of a new team of national executives at the NPP’s National Delegates Conference held in Kumasi on Saturday, October 3, 2026.
The new leadership includes Justin Frimpong Kodua as General Secretary, Kojo Fosu Boadu as First Vice Chairman, Henry Nana Boakye as Second Vice Chairman and Nana Akomea as Third Vice Chairman.
Mr Boadu said the party’s progress would depend on the ability of the new executives, defeated aspirants and the wider membership to work together towards a common goal.
He urged members not to allow disagreements from the election period to undermine efforts to build what he described as a renewed NPP.
