The Ministry of Health has announced a nationwide mop-up recruitment exercise to fill 465 vacancies for nurses and pharmacy professionals after some applicants reportedly failed to report to their assigned districts and health facilities.
The exercise is scheduled for Monday, October 5, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. GMT, according to a statement signed by the ministry’s spokesperson, Tony Goodman.
The vacancies span teaching hospitals, facilities under the Christian Health Association of Ghana (CHAG) and the Ghana Health Service.
Nursing positions account for 429 of the vacancies, comprising 266 posts in teaching hospitals, 133 in CHAG facilities and 30 under the Ghana Health Service.
The remaining 36 vacancies are for pharmacy professionals, including five pharmacist positions and 31 pharmacist technician positions.
The ministry said the recruitment exercise is intended to replace applicants who failed to report to the facilities and districts to which they had been posted.
