A 62-year-old retired headmaster, Kwadwo Addo, has broken down in tears after a DNA test revealed that his 40-year-old son, Kwadwo Agyei, is not his biological child.
The controversy followed repeated claims by Mr Kwaku Kyere, who allegedly maintained that he was Agyei’s biological father. The allegations became a source of embarrassment for Agyei, prompting him to seek the truth about his paternity with his parents on the popular Obra Show aired on NHYIRA 104.5 FM and ADOM TV.
Following mediation by the host, Ohemaa Benewaah and her team, a DNA test was conducted involving Mr Addo, Madam Akua Anima and Agyei. Mr Kyere, the alleged biological father, failed to make himself available for the test.

The results, however, confirmed that Mr Addo was not Agyei’s biological father, despite raising him for 40 years and providing for his needs, including buying him a car to work as a commercial driver.
Madam Anima, who initially denied any involvement with another man, later confessed to having a one-night encounter with Mr Kyere. However, she also mentioned another man, the late Mr Agyemang, as a possible biological father.
Devastated by the revelation, Mr Addo vowed to renounce Agyei and change his name.
He also demanded compensation for the four decades of paternal responsibilities, initially asking for GH¢4.5 million before reducing the amount to GH¢20,000.
Madam Anima pleaded for forgiveness, explaining that she could not afford the compensation, but Mr Addo remained unwilling to withdraw his demand.

The Obra Show team has since stepped in to mediate and help resolve the dispute.
The incident has reignited conversations about paternity, trust and the emotional consequences of concealed relationships.
