Ghanaian musician and businessman Criss Waddle has urged the government to provide meaningful, safer and improved alternatives following the demolition of businesses at beach fronts.
His comments come amid a demolition exercise at the La Pleasure Beach in Accra on Friday, October 2, 2026.
In a social media post, Criss Waddle cautioned that demolition exercises without adequate alternatives could have political consequences for the government, particularly among affected business owners and employees.
“The thing about demolition at beach fronts is you will have to replace it with something meaningful, nicer, and safer than what was demolished, that has to be done before ELECTIONS, or the business owners and employees will use that as leverage to vote against you.”

He stressed the need for authorities to ensure that affected businesses and workers are not left without viable alternatives after the demolitions.
