Polo Beach Club, a popular entertainment destination near Labadi Beach Resort in Accra, has been pulled down as authorities extend a demolition exercise targeting structures in the La Beach area.
The latest operation involves personnel from the Ghana Armed Forces’ 48 Engineer Regiment and the Ghana Police Service.
The demolition follows an earlier clearance exercise in the area, which was met with resistance from some residents and owners of affected structures.
With security personnel maintaining a presence in the area, the authorities have continued the exercise, targeting several structures for removal.
The demolition forms part of the ongoing operation to clear structures in the La Beach area.
