Ghanaian gospel artiste, songwriter and executive producer Da Prince Gh joined Zimbabwean businessman Robert Mugabe Jnr. and other African dignitaries to celebrate the 82nd birthday of Ugandan President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
The colourful celebration, dubbed the “Mzee @82 Legacy Gala”, was held at the Kololo Ceremonial Centre in Kampala on September 19, 2026, as part of a month-long celebration of President Museveni’s life and leadership.
Da Prince Gh, known in private life as Apostle Solomon Leonard Baidoo, travelled from Ghana to attend the event, which brought together diplomats, investors, entrepreneurs and representatives of organisations from across Africa.
The ceremony highlighted areas associated with President Museveni’s leadership, including security and regional stability, Pan-Africanism, economic and infrastructural development, and youth empowerment.
The event was organised by GenZ for Gen7, a youth wing of the Ugandan government, and was attended by several prominent personalities.
Uganda’s Vice President, Jessica Rose Epel Alupo, who represented President Museveni at the ceremony, was among those present. She took particular interest in Da Prince Gh and Robert Mugabe Jnr., with the latter emerging as one of the major attractions of the event.
Speaking about his participation, Da Prince Gh described the invitation as a great honour and an opportunity to celebrate what he described as a strong Pan-Africanist leader.
“It was a great honour and privilege to be invited by the President through the organisers to celebrate a living, strong Pan-Africanist, like the late Dr Kwame Nkrumah of Ghana, who had not only greatly transformed his country but made an enviable impact on the African continent,” he said.
Da Prince Gh also used the occasion to reflect on his own contribution to African music and his collaborations over the years.
In 2014, he featured the late Ghanaian musician Castro Under Fire on “Aforebor”, a song from his 12-track East to West album.
He later released his 17-track Amazing album in 2022, with both projects available on major digital music and streaming platforms.
His participation in the Kampala celebration adds to his activities as an artiste and faith leader seeking to connect his music, ministry and Pan-African outlook with audiences beyond Ghana.
