Funeral arrangements have been announced for the late Sharon Dede Padi, affectionately known as Padiki, a Ghanaian Guinness World Record holder who passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2026.
The funeral rites will begin on Saturday, September 26, 2026, with a pre-burial service at the Forecourt of the State House, Osu, at 7:30 a.m., followed by a burial service at 9:00 a.m.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at Calvary Methodist Church, Adabraka in her honour.
As the founder and CEO of Padiki Art Gallery, she gained international recognition after setting the Guinness World Record for the largest leaf-print painting.
She created a 54.33-square-meter artwork made entirely from natural leaves to depict the Ghanaian flag.
The achievement showcased her innovative approach to art while highlighting the beauty and sustainability of natural materials.
Padiki was widely admired for her unwavering commitment to preserving Ghana’s cultural heritage and nurturing emerging artists.
Through her gallery and numerous artistic initiatives, she championed creativity, mentorship, and the use of art as a powerful tool for storytelling and cultural expression.
