Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz has added nine players to Ghana’s squad ahead of the opening matches of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Côte d’Ivoire and The Gambia, as well as an international friendly against Morocco.
The changes come after medical concerns emerged over some players who were included in the initial 24-man squad for the upcoming international window.
Among the additions are defenders Jonas Adjetey of VfL Wolfsburg, OGC Nice’s Alidu Seidu, Rapid Bucharest left-back Ebenezer Annan and Osasuna’s Rockson Yeboah.
Midfielder Rahim Ibrahim of Slovan Bratislava has also been called up, while the attacking options have been strengthened with Brandon Thomas-Asante of Coventry City, Derby County’s Mohammed Fuseini, Kalba forward Benjamin Tetteh and Igdir FK striker Felix Afena-Gyan.
Ghana opened its training camp in Accra on Monday, 21 September, and will continue preparations on Tuesday before travelling for the opening qualifier.
The Black Stars begin their Group C campaign away to Côte d’Ivoire at the Stade de la Paix in Bouaké on 24 September before returning home to face The Gambia at the Accra Sports Stadium on 27 September.
Queiroz’s side will then conclude the international window with a high-profile friendly against Morocco at the Grand Stade de Tanger on 4 October.
