A total of 19 talented contestants on Sunday, September 13, showcased their communication skills, confidence and versatility as the Next Asempa Star 2026 competition officially took off.
The contestants, who were selected from an initial group of 32 hopefuls, took turns to demonstrate their abilities in a series of engaging challenges designed to test their readiness for a career in radio.
The opening edition featured challenges including sports titbits, news presentation, and hosting a segment of Ekosiisen, giving contestants the opportunity to exhibit their knowledge, delivery, confidence and ability to connect with an audience.
Through the sports titbits challenge, the contestants demonstrated their knowledge of sporting events and personalities while testing their ability to deliver information in an engaging manner.
The news presentation segment, meanwhile, put their accuracy, voice control, composure and ability to present information clearly to the test.
For the Ekosiisen segment, contestants had to step into the shoes of a radio host, demonstrating their ability to engage listeners, sustain conversations and command the microphone with confidence.
The performances gave judges and viewers a glimpse of the individual strengths and personalities of the 19 contestants as they began their journey towards becoming the next outstanding radio personality.
The Next Asempa Star 2026 competition is designed to discover a radio talent with the voice, confidence, knowledge and charisma required to excel behind the microphone.
The programme airs every Sunday from 8:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Adom TV, with listeners also able to follow the action on Asempa 94.7 FM.
The competition is also being streamed across the social media platforms of the Adom Brands.
With the first round now completed, attention will turn to the subsequent challenges as the contestants battle for the ultimate prize and the coveted title of Next Asempa Star 2026.
