The National Premix Fuel Secretariat has announced a temporary disruption in the supply of premix fuel following an ongoing strike by members of the Ghana National Petroleum Tanker Drivers Union.
In a notice to stakeholders dated September 3, 2026, the Secretariat said the industrial action had affected the distribution and supply of premix fuel.
The Secretariat said efforts were underway to resolve the situation and expressed optimism that the strike would be called off soon.
“We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused,” the Secretariat said, while assuring stakeholders of its commitment to maintaining an adequate and reliable supply of premix fuel.
The disruption comes at a time when premix fuel remains essential to Ghana’s artisanal fishing sector, with shortages potentially affecting fishing activities and livelihoods in coastal communities.
The Secretariat urged stakeholders to remain patient as engagements to resolve the industrial action continue.
