Firefighters from the New Juaben North Municipal Fire Station have safely removed a large swarm of bees that posed a potential threat to residents and schoolchildren at Srodae, near the Roman Cluster of Schools.
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) said the incident occurred on Monday, August 31, 2026, after the station received a distress call reporting the presence of the bees in the area.
A seven-member crew led by ADO I Boakye was dispatched to the scene and arrived at about 6:30 p.m.
Upon arrival, the firefighters found the swarm clustered beneath the ceiling of a metal container.
The team carefully relocated the bees, successfully bringing the situation under control at about 6:38 p.m.
The prompt intervention helped avert a potential danger to residents and schoolchildren in the area.
The GNFS said no casualties were recorded in the incident.
The Service continues to urge the public to contact the appropriate emergency authorities when confronted with potentially dangerous swarms rather than attempting to remove them without professional assistance.
