The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has responded to two separate vehicle-related incidents recorded at Fise and McCarthy Hill in the Greater Accra Region.
The incidents occurred on Saturday, August 22, 2026, with firefighters attending to a VIP Yutong bus crash at Fise and a trailer fire at McCarthy Hill.
In a statement shared on Facebook, the GNFS said personnel from the Amasaman Fire Station were dispatched to Fise after the Yutong bus collided with a concrete barricade.
The impact damaged the bus’s bumper, side glass and door, while also causing a diesel leak.
Firefighters contained the leak and secured the area. No injuries or deaths were recorded, and investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the crash.
At McCarthy Hill, personnel from the Weija Fire Station were called to a fire involving a MAN diesel trailer.
The fire was already burning when firefighters arrived, but they managed to bring it under control at 8:13 a.m. and fully extinguish it at 9:01 a.m.
The blaze caused extensive damage to the front section of the trailer, while the rear trailer section sustained partial damage.
No casualties were recorded in that incident.
The GNFS said investigations are continuing into the circumstances surrounding both incidents.
