The campaign team of New Patriotic Party (NPP) National Chairman aspirant Boakye Agyarko has dismissed a recent survey by Global InfoAnalytics, which places former General Secretary John Boadu ahead in the race for the party’s chairmanship.

The survey, released on August 20, 2026, puts John Boadu at 27% support, followed by Boakye Agyarko with 15%. Former NPP National Chairman Paul Afoko is also included in the poll.

However, Boakye Agyarko’s spokesperson, Vincent Frimpong Manu, has questioned the relevance of the findings, arguing that the survey did not focus on the delegates who will ultimately vote in the NPP’s national executive elections.

Speaking to Accra-based Citi News, he said the survey could not be taken as an accurate reflection of the race because its respondents were not drawn from the party’s electoral college.

“This did not target those who are actually going to vote,” he said.

Mr Frimpong Manu also pointed out that the survey was conducted before the NPP’s recent regional executive elections, which he believes could alter the composition and preferences of delegates who will take part in the national contest.

He is therefore calling on Global InfoAnalytics to conduct its next survey among delegates who will constitute the electoral college.

“What we would urge him to do is to actually focus on those who are going to form the electoral college when he gets the album, and then we would see where it is tilting towards. That would be the true picture,” he stated.

Despite the survey results, the campaign team maintains that its internal assessment puts Boakye Agyarko ahead of his rivals.

“From what we know, Honorable Boakye Agyarko is already in the lead,” he added.

The Global InfoAnalytics survey also places John Boadu ahead in terms of favourability among the three contenders.

He recorded a 61% favourable rating and 12% unfavourable rating, giving him a net approval rating of 49%.

Boakye Agyarko had a 50% favourable rating and 17% unfavourable rating, translating into a net approval rating of 34%.

Paul Afoko recorded a 50% favourable rating and 18% unfavourable rating, resulting in a net approval rating of 32%.

The regional results further show John Boadu leading in several regions, including Bono East, Greater Accra, North East, Northern, Upper East and Central.

Boakye Agyarko, however, remains competitive in some regions, recording 23% support in Bono East, 22% in Greater Accra and 21% in the Central Region.

The disagreement over the survey highlights the growing contest within the NPP ahead of its national executive elections, with candidates increasingly seeking to gauge their support among the delegates who will ultimately determine the outcome.
