Former Greater Accra Regional Minister, Titus Glover, has emerged as the leading candidate in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) National Organiser race, according to a new survey by Global InfoAnalytics.
Mr Glover records 23% support among NPP voters surveyed, placing him ahead of Salam Mustapha, who has 14%.
Alhaji Ismaela Ibrahim follows with 8%, while Kwame A. Prempeh records 5%.
Despite Mr Glover’s lead, the race remains open, with 50% of respondents saying they have not decided on a preferred candidate.
The sizeable undecided bloc could therefore prove crucial as the candidates intensify their campaigns and mobilisation efforts ahead of the NPP’s national executive elections.
Glover leads in key regions
The regional figures show Mr Glover performing particularly strongly in the Northern Region, where he records 35% support.
He also leads in the Volta Region with 28% and records 27% each in the Ahafo and Greater Accra regions.
Salam Mustapha’s strongest showing is in the Oti Region, where he records 28% support.
He also polls 25% in the Upper West Region and 24% in the Upper East Region.
Alhaji Ismaela Ibrahim performs strongest in the Bono Region, where he attracts 28% support, followed by 23% in the North East Region and 21% in the Upper West Region.
Kwame A. Prempeh’s strongest performance is in the Bono East Region, where he records 21%.
The findings suggest that although Mr Glover currently holds the overall lead, the large number of undecided voters leaves considerable room for movement in the race.
The candidates are expected to step up their engagement with delegates and party members across the country as the NPP prepares for its national executive elections.
