The newly elected Oti Regional Women’s Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Olivia Yawa Aglago, has paid a courtesy call on her former contender, Alice Adwoa Mensah, as part of efforts to promote reconciliation and unity within the party.
The visit comes after the NPP’s Oti Regional Executive Elections, in which Madam Aglago defeated Madam Mensah by 155 votes to secure the Women’s Organiser position.
During the meeting, Madam Aglago appealed to both sides to put their differences behind them and work together to strengthen the party’s Women’s Wing and its fortunes in the region.

She urged Madam Mensah to continue contributing her experience, ideas and knowledge to the party, stressing that their shared goal should be to help the NPP regain political power.
Madam Mensah welcomed the gesture and pledged her support for the newly elected leadership.
She also reaffirmed her commitment to working with the new Regional Women’s Organiser in the collective interest of the party and building a stronger and more effective Women’s Wing in the Oti Region.
The meeting is seen as an important step towards healing divisions that may have emerged during the regional elections and fostering greater cooperation among party members.
Madam Aglago was accompanied by the Oti Regional Secretary, Dr Frank Awuah, and other NPP executives.
Both leaders reiterated their commitment to unity, cooperation and working together to strengthen the party ahead of future political engagements.
