Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon, John Dumelo, has responded to a recent water shortage at the Accra Training College in East Legon by drilling a borehole for the institution.
The intervention follows a water crisis that affected the college last week, leaving students and other members of the school community struggling to access a reliable supply.
Mr Dumelo announced the intervention in a social media post, saying he had responded to the situation by providing a more lasting solution.
“Last week, water shortages hit the campus of Accra Training College, East Legon. This morning I drilled a borehole to mitigate the issue,” he said.
The newly drilled borehole is expected to provide an alternative source of water for the college and help reduce the impact of future disruptions to the institution’s water supply.
The intervention adds to Mr Dumelo’s previous efforts to respond to water-related challenges affecting students in the area. In July 2024, he provided water tankers for students at the University of Ghana, Legon, after a water shortage left students struggling to access water.
