Former Managing Director and CEO of PBC Limited, Kwaku Nkansah PaaNii, has endorsed former General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Kwame Boadu, for the position of National Chairman ahead of the party’s October 3, 2026 elections.

Mr PaaNii, a former NPP UK Branch Chairman, said his endorsement was based on nearly 14 years of personal and political association with Mr Boadu, whom he described as hardworking, approachable, strategic and deeply committed to the party.

Recounting their first meeting in Mamprobi, Mr PaaNii said he was struck by Mr Boadu’s ability to connect with ordinary party members despite his senior position within the NPP.

He said his subsequent interactions with Mr Boadu over the years, particularly when he served as National Organiser and later Acting General Secretary, further convinced him of his leadership capabilities.

According to Mr PaaNii, Mr Boadu had consistently demonstrated an ability to resolve difficult political and organisational challenges without unnecessarily delaying action.

He cited an incident during an NPP programme in Amsterdam in 2015, saying Mr Boadu’s calm and strategic intervention helped resolve a difficult situation despite his own preference for a more confrontational approach at the time.

Mr PaaNii also recalled Mr Boadu’s support during his tenure as Managing Director of PBC Limited, describing the former NPP General Secretary as a dependable ally when the company faced several challenges.

He said Mr Boadu was always willing to engage relevant authorities and seek solutions to problems rather than postpone them.

“He is not the ‘let’s wait and see’ type of person. He deals with the situation there and then,” Mr PaaNii said.

He acknowledged that Mr Boadu, like every human being, had his shortcomings and that some party members might have disagreed with his methods or felt offended by him.

However, he urged such individuals to consider Mr Boadu’s contribution to the NPP in its broader context.

“He is a man, he has flaws, he is a pragmatist, and sometimes, this may have gotten him into cul-de-sacs, but that is how dynamic human nature is and he will always find a way for us,” he said.

Mr PaaNii argued that Mr Boadu’s previous experience as National Organiser and Acting General Secretary, during which the NPP won the 2016 general elections, demonstrated his capacity to lead the party towards electoral victory.

He described the former General Secretary as someone capable of connecting with party members across generations and said his approachable nature and work ethic made him suitable for the National Chairmanship.

“If we the NPP want power in 2028, then I would recommend to you John Kwame Boadu,” he said.

Mr PaaNii, who previously contested the NPP National Vice Chairman position in 2022, urged delegates to support Mr Boadu in the upcoming national elections.

“Cometh the hour, cometh the man and this is John Kwame Boadu’s turn,” he said.

He expressed confidence that Mr Boadu could help the NPP rebuild and secure victory in the 2028 general elections.

“The Elephant is ready for 2028 and so is John Kwame Boadu,” he added.

The NPP is scheduled to hold its national executive elections on October 3, 2026, with several aspirants expected to contest various positions.
