Re-elected Eastern Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Jeff Konadu Addo, has appealed to party members to put their differences aside and unite following the regional executive elections.

Speaking on Accra-based Citi FM, Mr Konadu urged both his supporters and opponents to reconcile and work together in the interest of the NPP.

He also offered a personal apology to anyone who may have been offended by his words or actions during the campaign, asking for forgiveness as the party moves beyond the internal contest.

Mr Addo extended an olive branch to his former opponents, saying he holds no resentment towards anyone who may have spoken or acted against him in an effort to prevent his election.

“If I have done anything against anybody or said anything against anybody, I beg you, please, let them forgive me. I’m kneeling down in front of everybody; let them forgive me.

“Anybody who has done anything against me or said anything against me because they wanted to win me out of my heart, no matter the medium, I forgive everybody,” he said.

Mr. Addo also called on party members to allow unity to take precedence over the disagreements and tensions that may have emerged during the election campaign.

He said the NPP must now focus on rebuilding its structures and working together towards the party’s broader political objectives.

Mr Konadu pledged to lead efforts to unite the party in the Eastern Region and strengthen its grassroots support ahead of the 2028 general elections.

He also expressed his commitment to working with party members to secure victory for the NPP’s flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, in the next presidential election.

Mr. Addo polled 405 votes to defeat his sole contender, Albert Kwadwo Boateng-Agyemang, who obtained 292 votes.
