The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has promoted four police personnel for their exceptional performance in an operation that led to the dismantling of an armed robbery syndicate in the Upper West Region.
The promoted officers are General Corporal Mortsi Kwashie Divine, Detective Corporal Salifu Ishmael Aketisiwin, General Lance Corporal Ernest Ameyaw Akumfi and General Lance Corporal John Bekaar Vitus.
According to the Ghana Police Service, the promotions are in recognition of the officers’ dedication, courage, professionalism and contribution to the fight against armed robbery.
The Police said the officers played key roles in an intelligence-led operation conducted by the Upper West Regional Police Command.
The operation resulted in the arrest of six suspects allegedly linked to a series of armed robbery incidents recorded in parts of the Wa West District and the Wa Municipality.
The Police said the promotions were intended to acknowledge the commitment and professionalism demonstrated by the four personnel during the operation.
The IGP and the Police Management Board have congratulated the promoted officers and urged them to maintain the same level of professionalism, dedication and commitment in the discharge of their duties.
The Police Service said the recognition forms part of efforts to encourage personnel who demonstrate exceptional commitment in the fight against crime.
