The Accra Regional Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with the murder of a 54-year-old man, Mohammed Rahman, and the shooting of his wife, Christiana Fosu, 53, at Tuba near Weija in the Greater Accra Region.
The suspects have been identified as Adams Adder Almeida and his brother, Bala Bilyon.
According to the police, the incident occurred on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at the Beach Drive Estate, Tuba.
The Weija Police received information that a man and his wife had been shot and wounded at the estate and immediately dispatched a team to the scene.
Upon arrival, the officers found Rahman Mohammed and his wife, Christiana Fosu, with gunshot wounds outside their four-bedroom apartment.
The victims were rushed to Finney Hospital in Weija, where Mohammed Rahman was pronounced dead on arrival.
His wife was subsequently referred to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital for further treatment and is currently on admission, responding to treatment.
The body of the deceased has been deposited at the Police Hospital Mortuary pending autopsy.
The police said during interrogation, suspect Adams Adder Almeida allegedly admitted to shooting the deceased and his wife.
According to the suspect, he was motivated by his perception that the deceased had repeatedly described him as “lazy and useless”, which he claimed had affected him mentally.
Following the suspect’s alleged confession, he led investigators to his brother’s room at Beach Drive Estate, where a pistol believed to have been used in the shooting was retrieved.
The weapon was allegedly concealed beneath the wall drop of his brother, Bala Bilyon.
Police investigations further established that Adams Adder Almeida and Bala Bilyon reside together in the same room at Tuba.
Adams also allegedly told investigators that the pistol had been given to him by a friend identified as Gideon.
He subsequently led the investigative team to Gideon’s residence at Tuba, but the suspect was not found at home.
The police said efforts are ongoing to locate Gideon to assist with investigations, while Bala Bilyon has been arrested and is being interrogated.
The arrests were made with assistance from the Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team (CVET) as investigations into the incident continue.
