NPP’s Asante Mampong parliamentary aspirant Nana Yaa Siaw reportedly dead

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary aspirant for the Asante Mampong Constituency, Beatrice Owarewa Siaw, popularly known as Nana Yaa, has reportedly died.

According to a Facebook report by Asaase News, a close source said the NPP Council of Patrons member died at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital. The circumstances and cause of her death have not been made known.

Nana Yaa was a prominent businesswoman and philanthropist who had been actively campaigning for the NPP ticket in Asante Mampong. She had outlined plans for the constituency centred on industrialisation, job creation and youth empowerment.

She had also claimed to have invested more than GH¢40 billion into the constituency, describing it as part of her commitment to the area’s development.

Neither the NPP nor the family has issued an official statement confirming her death yet.
