Ghana’s creative arts industry turned out in numbers on Saturday, August 8, 2026, to bid a final farewell to actress Beverly Afaglo.
The funeral, held at the Forecourt of the State House in Accra, brought together some of the country’s biggest names in entertainment, politics, and media, who joined the actress’ family and loved ones to mourn her passing and celebrate her life.
Among those who attended were actresses Roselyn Ngissah, Grace Omaboe, popularly known as Maame Dokono, and Eunice Banini.
Also present were actors Van Vicker and Majid Michel, as well as musician and rapper Okyeame Kwame, who joined scores of industry colleagues to pay their respects.
Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority, Abeiku Santana, was also at the funeral, alongside Deputy Minister for Agriculture and actor John Dumelo.
Their presence reflected the wide circle of people Beverly touched throughout her career and personal life.
Mourners arrived in black and other traditional mourning attire as they gathered to honour the late actress, whose death on May 24, 2026, at the age of 42 left many in Ghana’s entertainment industry deeply saddened.
The atmosphere at the funeral was filled with grief as colleagues, friends and family members remembered Beverly and celebrated her contribution to Ghanaian film and television.
For many of her colleagues, the gathering was more than a funeral. It was an opportunity to honour a fellow creative whose life and career had made an impact on the industry.
Beverly was survived by her husband, musician Eugene Baah, popularly known as Choirmaster, and their children.
As the creative arts community came together to say goodbye, the strong turnout underscored the love and respect Beverly Afaglo commanded among her colleagues and fans.
