Black Queens head coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren has acknowledged that Ghana will face a more difficult challenge when they take on an experienced Cameroon side in their second Group D match at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
Ghana will battle the Indomitable Lionesses on Sunday at the Moulay Rachid Stadium in Casablanca, with a place in the quarterfinals within reach for the Black Queens.
The Swedish coach guided Ghana to a winning start in the competition after a 2-0 victory over Cape Verde in their opening fixture.
However, he believes Cameroon, who also opened their campaign with a win over Mali will present a tougher test due to their experience and quality.
Bjorkegren expects a step up in intensity from their first game and has warned his players about the threat posed by the Central African side.
“I expect Cameroon to be one level up than Cape Verde,” the Swedish trainer told the media on Saturday.
“We are going to play against a good Cameroon team with experienced players,” he added.
The match is scheduled to kick off at 17:00 GMT, with Ghana needing a positive result to secure progression to the knockout stage.
Should the Black Queens advance to the semifinals, they will also book their place at the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil.
